Encore Technology + Design’s history is rooted in a passion for excellence. The root of that passion came from Matt Carter when he first began AV, a high end audio and video retail company, in 1998. As the world has evolved, so has the expression of our passion for excellence. It continues today as Encore Technology + Design. Below is a brief history of our evolution.

1998	:	AV is Born Matt Carter opens AV as a custom, high-end audio and video company. Working from space in his garage, he begins to build AV from his passion for exceptional sound and video systems.
2000	:	AV Expands Services to Home Technology Integration and Automation With the evolution of home technology, AV expands technical expertise and services to include home technology integration and automation solutions.
2002	:	AV Pioneers the Electronic Systems Show Home A first of its kind showroom, AV builds a complete 2,500 square foot show home within its building. The show home allows clients to experience home technology options in an actual home environment.
2006	:	AV Grows, Changes Name to Encore Technology + Design As a natural evolution, reflecting the custom electronic systems industry’s maturity, AVSI of Greenville, SC and Mediascapes of Charleston, SC merge with AV. The company name is changed to Encore Technology + Design, supporting a broader range of residential technology products and services.
2007	:	Encore Technology + Design introduces CORe Home Technology Packages By combining the most popular features in our client’s homes into packaged solutions, Encore simplifies home technology options and makes it easier for architects, builders, and home owners to budget for home technology features.
2007	:	Encore Opens New Office and Design Studio Growth and continuous improvement of Encore’s business operations require additional space and a state of the art design studio. Encore proudly opens its new facility in Columbia, SC.
